Mrs Rubbish

Jenny Dyson set up RUBBISH INK in 2007, half way through a five year position as the European editor for Teen Vogue.

She has 15 years of experience in glossy magazines and publishing spanning British Vogue, Elle and Tatler, plus co creating and publishing The London Fashion Week Daily, the bi-annual newspaper for the British Fashion Council. She lives in London with her husband Nick Jones, her children Charlie Parsley and Dorothy Button, their hairy dogs, Bucket and Beano, and a couple of goldfish. She eats a lot of sweets, she blushes a lot and she likes to think that RUBBISH is a place to come to for unexpected fun.

She supports Arsenal.

The "Interns"

Neil Mendoza and William Sieghart are our adoptive interns. In fact, they are extremely experienced and talented publishers who created one of the first ever serious contract publishing companies in the 1980s, called Forward.

They made magazines for the likes of Patek Phillippe, Silk Cut and Tesco. After selling their company to WPP in 2001 they have been doing all sorts of interesting and impressive things, such as charity fund raising, helping the Arts Council, film investment and being on lots of boards of lots of important companies.

They bring mentorship and order to the office, just as proper interns should do.

William is a massive Arsenal fan.

Neil runs a lot and loves Shakespeare.

Fire Marshall

Blue joined RUBBISH towers last year after
graduating with a first in Graphic Arts from
Winchester School of Art.

He specialises in wearing city shorts when it’s
hot and extreme cardigans when it’s cold.

He supports Sheffield Wednesday.

EXECUTIVE MANTERN

George Ryan has a beard. Mrs Rubbish named George the mantern when he joined us as a male intern after gaining an MA in history from Edinburgh University. He is the distribution manager for all RUBBISH publications, plus the ambassador and salesman for the brand. Therefore he spends a lot of time drinking cocktails, making friends and generally being nice to people. Due to a recent football injury he spends a lot of time squeezing a special block of exercise dough.

He also has to wear neon pink and yellow bandages on his fingers. He is a massive Fulham fan.

Art Girl

Ruth wrote to us while still in her final year studying illustration at the Bath School of Art and Design. She has been with us ever since and we love her. Ruth loves how Rubbish is a place to celebrate the silly side of style.

She loves the cheap sushi shop nearby, the lift that opens straight onto her desk and the fact that her day can be anything from making a film for Liberty’s blog to swimming with Mrs Rubbish’s children, sketching for a live catwalk illustration or just simply writing lots of letters with extremely neat hand writing. Ruth supports synchronised diving teams around the world.

Guests

Depending on our projects, we work with an array of extremely talented people. Many of them can be found on our blogroll. Guest RUBBISH contributors must be very good at what they do. They also have to be lovely to work with, or else.
